Sanitary measures

Preventive measures implemented by the Museum – school group visits*

Dear teachers and students, our team will be delighted to welcome you to the Museum! Because your safety and that of our employees is our priority, we have implemented a series of measures to conform to the requirements of the public health authorities during a pandemic situation. Because the Museum must respect the physical distancing standards for schools, we can only accommodate one class at a time (no physical distancing between students, but 2 metres with the moderator and the accompanying adults). Your group can expect a secure and very personalised experience!

1) You are required to reserve your visit by telephone at: 450-686-5641, extension 0. We will offer you a 2h15 time slot dedicated to your class.

2) You must arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the allotted reservation time. Please stay in the bus; our moderators will come to meet you.

3) Symptomatic people or those subject to quarantine are not authorised to visit the Museum; please ask the following questions of your students and accompanying people before coming to the Museum:

1. Do you have symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sudden loss of smell, exhaustion)

2. Have you tested positive for COVID-19 or are you waiting for the results of a test?

3. In the last 14 days or less, have you been in contact with a person presenting symptoms or having received a diagnosis of COVID-19 or who is waiting for the results of a test?

4. Have you travelled outside Canada in the last 14 days?

If a member of your group responds “yes” to one of these questions, he should not take part in the visit. Please note that employees must also answer these questions daily.

4) Masks or face-coverings are required for all students in grades 5 and higher and for accompanying adults; they are also recommended for the younger visitors. We do not supply them to our visitors, so please don't forget yours!

5) Each visitor in the group must disinfect his hands with hydroalcoholic gel upon arriving at the Museum and regularly throughout the visit.

6) During the moderated visit to the exhibition, you must move in the direction indicated and follow the instructions given by the moderators. The latter will wear personal protective equipment.

7) The interactive elements of the exhibition and the laboratory materials are disinfected between each participant. You can therefore handle the items specified by the moderator without worrying!

8) If he wishes, each visitor must think to bring his labeled water bottle because the water fountain can only be used for filling bottles.

9) A limited number of toilets are available so please think about going before leaving the school! However, please note that they are cleaned more frequently, as are the door handles, stairway handrails, and benches.

10) After your visit, you will receive an email with an evaluation form. We thank you for taking a moment to answer it; your comments and suggestions are valuable!

Please don't hesitate to contact us at: 450-686-5641, extension 0 to reserve or ask a question.

We look forward to welcoming you!

*Given the limited area of our premises, we cannot offer visits to groups other than preschool, primary and secondary schools (for example, professional training groups, CEGEPS and universities, adults) because the physical distancing of 1.5 meters (sitting) or 2 meters (standing) between participants cannot be respected.
